So today we were supposed to make a Kowhaiwhai online or in real life. So I decided to make mine in real life on paper but then I gave up and made it online. So this took me about 10 minutes to make. I found this really easy and fun but it was hard to decide if I was going to do it online or in real life on paper.  Kia Ora everyone how are you? I hope you are all having a great day! So today my class and I have been working on a summer learning activity. So we did it and we were supposed to go onto Art colouring-in book and colour in something we don't have to make it look like how it looked like before. I drew Big Ben, a watermelon, and many others. Big Ben and the watermelon pictures were my personal favourite.  This took me about almost an hour to make. I found this easy cause it was easy to draw it. I found this very fun and a cool activity!  Kia Ora everyone, how are you? I hope you are all having a great and awesome day! So today and yesterday my class and I were working on temperatures. So Miss Farr said that we had to research the hottest country in the world and the coldest country in the world. This took me about two days to make and I really enjoyed making this because I knew what to do and when do to do it.  Kia Ora everyone how are you? I hope you are all having a great day today! So this week my class and I have been working on making comics on storyboard online and after we made our first ones we had to make another one and make it on a story that we made. So first we had to plan what story we were gonna do then we had to make it and add details. So my story that I made was about two girls that were playing tag and then they magically started flying so they flew into town and they were having a great day then some ducks came and made them fall and stop flying for some reason then they woke up and found that they were in there bedroom then they looked outside and saw the ducks. They thought hmm maybe it wasn't a dream maybe it happened for real? This piece of work took me about a few days almost about a week and I enjoyed doing it because I love making comics! So yesterday my classmates and I did a quiz and today we had to pick something from the quiz to research about.  So I picked The most beautiful city in New Zealand, Hastings. So I found this very fun and cool but I found this hard because I had to do everything and it took me a while. The most expensive face mask in the world!

 Kia Ora everyone how are you? I hope you are having a wonderful day! So on Wednesday, we did a quiz and we could choose what topic to research. I chose to research the most expensive face mask in the world. It is very expensive and if I had enough money to buy the face mask I would defiantly just because imagine if someone stole your handbag and your face mask was in there and what if you lose it. So task 5 is when you have to create a piece of art, dance, drama, or anything to do with art and we have to make it with something to do with something that you want to change in this world. So the picture that I made meant before humans ruined this world the animals and plants were having a great time but then after we started building they were living a horrible life. So this means we have to stop ruining animals' natural habitats. This drawing that I made is called Before and After because it looked good before than bad after. This took me about half an hour. Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a wonderful day. So for a couple of weeks, my whole class and I  been working on making videos on how to play a game that takes more than 10 minutes. I chose Farmer, Farmer because it's a game that I enjoy playing. This video took me about a few weeks to make because first we had to write a script on what to say and we had to find people that we interested in being in the video. E.M Grafiti street art or crime?

 Hello, everyone. I hope you are having a great day. So this week we are focusing on art and graffiti. So for this blog post, we are supposed to read the article and then answer this question. What do you think about graffiti and Do you think those men should have been arrested? So I'm gonna go ahead and answer them. So I think that graffiti is sometimes bad but sometimes good. So I think it is bad because people do graffiti on other people's property. I also think that graffiti is good because in Christchurch it is helping make the place more colourful and bright since the earthquakes. Now time for the second question. I think the men should have been arrested because they did graffiti on other people's property without their permission and they should be old enough to know not to do that naughty stuff but I think that if they did it on their own property it would be fine but it is different for every question. We were supposed to read the book painting the town and after we read the book we had to answer some questions. I think the book is very fascinating and very colorful. I enjoyed reading it.  Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a wonderful day! So this blog post is about Coral Reefs dying! This unfortunate news is very sad because most coral reefs are dying and that is very bad for the ocean. This took me about 20 minutes to finish and I very enjoyed doing this because I like ocean life but this news is very sad. I hope that we change our ways and I hope that the coral reefs stop dying soon. I found this kinda hard to do and kinda easy to do. E.M How to play Farmer, Farmer.

 Farmer, Farmer is a cool, fun, amazing, and awesome game to play with family, friends, and classmates. Today I'm going to be showing you and telling you how to play Farmer, Farmer. 

Time/Amount of people.                                                                                                                                     First, you need 3 or more people to play. It takes about 10 minutes or more to play but really you decide. You need 2 or more people to be the players and two or one people to be the taggers. 

Rules.                                                                                                                                                                   If you want to know how to play you need to know the rules. There are 1 or more taggers and as many players as you want. You're not allowed to go out of bounds, No cheating. The two people that started in are the only people who can say who can cross. The two people who are in are in start by saying: (Example.) You can only cross if you have black shoes! Therefore the people with black shoes are allowed to cross without getting tagged. The two people who are in get to say who can coss by saying those who have a certain color, clothing, or thing on them. When tagged they help other taggers but they cannot say who can cross. Only the people who started in can. 

Method/How to play.                                                                                                                                          Taggers start in the middle of the court/field and players who aren't in start at the starting line on the court/field. They have to get to the other side without getting tagged.

All players start on one side of the court/field then they have to get to the other side.

Before players run across the court/field they say '' Farmer, Farmer, may we cross your golden bridge?'' The taggers say '' Only if you have a certain thing or color on you then you can cross. (Taggers decision.) The players with that certain thing on them can cross without getting tagged. The players without that thing on them cannot cross without getting tagged, but they still have to make it to the other side. If a player gets tagged they are in with the other taggers.

So you had to write down on your computer all the things you know about Sportsmanship. Then After you do that write it in your book on your Chromebook. The book that I am writing about is Under the Mountain. It is a very good book. So today I am doing an activity on Exploring the setting. Exploring the setting is when you have to tell the reader about the setting in the book and tell them about where the book characters are and what time they are in. This took me about a couple of weeks because I kept forgetting about posting it on my blog. At first, I didn't really get what exploring the setting is but then when I started to read it about more I understood what to do so I found it hard but also easy. EK news about Lake Ohau Fire.

 Kia Ora everyone! I hope you all have had a great holiday. So today I am going to share with you all a video that my friend Katelyn and I did about the Lake Ohau fire. We made a video about it and pretended that we were news reporters and we named our news EK. ( E Because of the first letter of my name and K in Katelyn's first letter of her name.) Katelyn and I had to first write some notes and some facts about the Lake Ohau fire. Katelyn and I really enjoyed making the video and I think that this was so much fun. This video took us about 20 minutes to make it perfect. I found this easy because Katelyn was the one who was the Editor so I just watched her edit it. E.M Camp recount. Bridge valley camp.

 Beyond this point is my Camp recount.

Hi, my name is Eden and today I'm going to write/tell you about my awesome and fun experience at Camp! So on Tuseday a couple of weeks ago I went camping. When I got to camp I straight away looked around in excitement and (as straight as the parents and teachers let me go to my cabin. I sprinted to see what my cabin looked like.) The people who were in my cabin were Emily, Tahlia, Clara, Katelyn, Meka, and I. After a little bit of free time, we all went into our teams and started our first activity. I was in Team 3 and the people in my team were Miro H, Aaron, Grace, Keil, Quaid, Emma, Zekaiah, Luke, Carter, and I. The adults that looked after we were Anthea, and Kriston. My first activity was Team initiatives. Team initiatives are when you and your team must work together to move across obstacles. After my first activity, I moved onto my next activity. My next activity was Orienteering. Orienteering is when you and your team get split into small flags and write down the symbols on the flags.  Free time came and we all just ran around and played with our friend. After free time we had Top teams!  Top teams are when you and your team had to all work together against other teams and try and win against all the other teams. So the last team that won most of their obstacles will be the best team of the whole camp. There were five obstacles in the whole Top team's and they were all different and unique. My personal favorite one was probably the adventure playground one. The adventure playground obstacle was when we all versed other teams and we had to race against each other to get to the end of the obstacle. After all the obstacles my team won! So that means my team is the best! Then some people wanted to go on the black slide. The blackslide looked scary when you got to the bottom so I didn't go on it the whole time I was on camp. Then we had more free time. Then dinner finally came. For dinner, we had Spaghetti and meatballs, spring rolls, rice, coleslaw, and salad. It was soo yummy! Then after dinner, we all played spotlight. Me, Emma, Meka, and Katelyn hid in a very good spot. It was ready for bedtime, so we all got ready for bed. I was absolutely shattered because it was such a long day and I had to wake up at 5.50 am and it was such a long day and I felt like I was going to collapse. Then it was finally time to go to sleep. ( Day 2, Wednesday.) Morning came and I and my friends all woke up. Then we went into the dining room and had breakfast. For breakfast, we had fruits, cereal, toast, and more. I was soo yum! Then I and my team moved onto our first activity of the day! Our first activity was Team Rescue. Team rescue is when you and your team get planks and you have to try and get steady Eddy to the hospital witch is at the end of the obstacle. ( Steady Eddy is a dummy and his head always hangs down on the side of the stretcher.) So I and my team made it to the end and we moved onto our second activity of the day. Our next activity was the Burma trail. The Burma trail is when you and your team are blindfolded and you have to hold onto ropes and try and get to the end. I fell over about 2 times and I was one of the last people in my team to finish it. Then we had lunch for lunch we had yummy wedges and burgers! Then I and my team moved onto our third activity of the day. Our third activity was Lazertag. So we all got split into the blue team and the red team. ( I forgot the names of the teams.) I was on the blue team. So the rules of Lazertag are when there was a box and you had to shoot the box to make the box the color of your team and if you have to go back to your box at your base and go super close to the box then you will come back to life. If you have to reload you can push the red button under your gun or you can walk back to your base and go near the box witch beings you back to life and then the box will say reloaded. My team, the blue team lost twice. Then my last activity was low ropes. Low ropes are when you have to try and go on low ropes and try not to fall. Oh and I almost forgot after a couple of the activities I did me and everyone else got to have morning tea we could have one piece of baking and as much fruit as we want. The fruits there were pineapples and watermelon.  So back to Lazertag. So after Lazertag, we got free time. Then after free time mostly everyone went on the slides. We could go on the enormous blue slide. We could also go and swim in the lake and we could go in the cool pool. I went on all of these and here was the order of all of them. Blue waterslide, Then the lake, then finally the pool. I remember after I went by myself on the blue slide you could go with a friend. Then I went with Katelyn on the blue slide it was soo cool. Then after water time wen all got dressed but I also got dressed in my PJs! ( Because they are soo cozy.) Then after I and my friends got dressed we had donuts. They were very yummy. Then I and my team had to set up dinner because all the teams take turns setting up dinner and we also had to set up lunch after we did the Burma trail. Then we ate dinner. For dinner, we had butter chicken and it was soo warm and yum! Then we had more free time and then everyone went on the Burma trail. It was dark and super creepy. Then some of us went alone but some people went with someone. I went with Katelyn because I was kinda scared to go by myself. After everyone went once some people went a second time but this time the parents were allowed to scare you. I went back with a couple of friends. But some Katelyn went the second time all alone this time. and she said she wasn't scared but I know if I went all alone I would be terrified. Then after everyone finished the Burma trail everyone had hot chocolates and we also had some baking and some fruits. The after hot chocolates and the other food we all got ready for bed. Then we went to sleep. Then the parents and Miss Farr scared us even though most of us were asleep. Then morning came and we and I and my roommates got ready for the day. Then we all had breakfast we had the same for breakfast from yesterday. Toast, fruit, and cereal.Then after breakfast, we got  free time. Then we started our first activity of the day. Our first activity was Archery. Archery was such fun! Archery is when you have to shoot an arrow and try and get a bullseye. I got a bullseye, well I kinda did. So my arrow hit the target bullseye and then it straight away fell off. Then after Archery, we had morning tea. For morning tea we had more baking and fruit. Then we all moved onto our second activity of the day. Our second activity was Fire and Damper. Fire and Damper are when you have to find some sticks to make a fire and then you get a long stick so that you can put the damper on the stick then you put the stick over the fire. Then when you are finished cooking it you put butter and cinnamon on it and you put the butter on before the cinnamon so that the cinnamon can stick to the Damper. I ate my damper and it tasted like donuts and it was so yum! Then we had lunch I don't really remember what we had for lunch but all I can say is that it was yum. Then I moved onto my third activity of the day. My third activity of the day was Abseiling. Abseiling is when you where this harness thing for your legs then you attach the ropes to it and you go onto this very large wall and you jump off of it and you jump up and down and it is kinda scared but also kinda fun at the same time! So when you get to the abseiling you put on the harness things for your legs and your practice going down a small slope so you can get the hang of it. Then after I and my friend Emma finished practicing we went up the cave and went through heaps of small gaps. ( The cave is inside the longwall thing you jump off. ) So you see me and Emma are super tall kids so it was kinda hard for us to get through the small spaces. Then when we did get to the top I and Emma had to wait for the people who are up at the very top to abseil because only 2 people and the man who was helping us were allowed on there. Then I and Emma were aloud to go up and Emma went down before me. Then I went down and I honestly didn't think that I would go down but I did! The man attached me to the rope and I started to go down. I was very scared and I thought I was gonna die but I didn't. When I got to the bottom I was very proud of myself and so was Miss Farr! Then we moved onto our last activity of the day. My last activity of the day was Kayaking. Kayaking is when you and your team get to go in some kayaks  and you get the paddles. Then you get into the kayak and you use the paddle and once you start doing it you will definitely get used to it. Then my boat was filling up with water and everyone was asking me why and I didn't know why. Then they took a look at my Kayak and turns out my kayak had a hole in it! Then they put the kayak back and they got me a new banana looking one. I loved kayaking and that was my first time ever doing it. Then after I kayaked I went inside my cabin and had a long warm hot shower. The shower was super nice. Then I got into my cozy clothes. Then I and my friends had free time and after a little bit people could go on the black slide. I just watched it because I like watching people go down the black slide especially my friends. I watched Katelyn go down about 11 times. Then after some  people  went down the slide everyone got dressed and we all had dinner. Dinner was  Nachos and Nachos were so yum! Then after dinner we had dessert. Then we got ready for the concert! The concert is when you and your group pull something to do out of a hat and you and your team have to do something related to the topic you pulled out of the hat. My group, team 3 had to do comedy. Me and my team decided to do cheesy pick up lines. We all practiced our pick up lines and we kept practicing until it was time for the concert. My pick up line was this: Hey can I have your Instagram? Cause my parents said I should follow my dreams. ( I enjoyed my pick up line :) Then it was finally ready to do the concert. My team did there's 3rd. The team's presentation that I enjoyed most was probably team 4. They did little red riding hood. I liked theirs because it was funny and eyecatching. I'm pretty sure that all the teams won the concert. Then after the concert we all had some free time. then we had to get ready for bed. Then we all fell asleep. Then Friday came, the last day of camp. Then me and my roommates got up and went and had breakfast. Breakfast was the usual. Then after breakfast everyone had to clean up their cabins and make sure that they are nice and tidy. But before breakfast me and my roommates cleaned up our clothes and put them in our bags and we put then in the trailer thingy. So back to cleaning up our cabins. So after we cleaned up our cabins the parents had to make sure it was done nicely. Then after they checked all the cabins we all played a new game called get fresh. So get fresh is when you get split into teams. and you start near the Orange and Yellow cones. That is when we all  are safe and each team has an orange and yellow cone. My team was my team, team 3 and team 1 and we were versing team 4 and team 2. If you are on the line and you get off the line and you tag someone that hopped of their line before you then you can tag them and take them back and take them back to your line that you started on and go on a corner and that is the Jail. The only way to get out of the Jail is if someone comes from your team and tags you, but they can only take one person at a time. But if something goes wrong and someone fresher than you from a different team comes and tags you before you get to try and save someone from Jail then you go to jail. My whole team won the first round  and the other team won the second. Then after get fresh we had morning tea For morning tea we had the usual. After morning tea it was time to leave. So we all hopped into the cars we were in and we set off to try and get back to school. We stopped halfway in Murchison and played on a playground there and had lunch. My car had a flat tire and we were almost to school! It took a long time to come back to school. Then we finally got back to school and I saw my Dad and ran up to him and hugged him. So this is how I described my first camp, fun, amazing, cool, and a great experience. Made by Eden.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you're having a great day.  So on today I and the other year 6's were supposed to write some stuff about the refugee fire in Lobos Greece. So I finally finished and that took me about 1 hour and a bit. I really enjoyed writing about this topic and I hope the people from the refugee fire are ok. E.M Activity 2 Author research.

Kia Ora Everybody! How are you? I hope you are feeling happy today!  So this piece of work is about the author of the book I'm reading. The book I am reading is Under the mountain by Maurice Gee. Even though I have only read a little bit of the book In think the story is really cool and it is a really good story I understand! So today I have done the word of the week and this took me about 10 minutes like usual and I found this easy and the only time I find the word of the week hard is when I don't know what the word means or I don't know how to put the word of the week in a sentence. Now the word of the week this week is obnoxious. So obnoxious means very unpleasant and being nasty. So the sentence I used for the word of the week was sometimes me and my siblings can be obnoxious. Article 1: Gabriel Read gained fame when he found gold near the Tuapeka River. Thousands of people went to ‘Gabriel’s Gully’ Hoping to become rich. Gabriel Read was from Tasmania and he returned there in 1864 and spent his final years in a mental hospital.

Article 2: On the 23rd of May 1861 Gabriel Read gained esteem and provincial government bonuses when he found gold. Another Character, Edward Peters, had found gold earlier than Gabriel Read in the same area, but he had not proven that the deposits were extensive enough to be economically worked. 

Article 3: Gold was identified in a number of Otago waterways in the 1850s but the leaders of the Otago settlement were ambivalent- A gold rush might bring riches.

Hello! How are you? I hope you are having a great day! So today I have chosen something from the blog contract once again! I chose What pets I have and What pets I want. I don't have any pets because My parents won't let me have one which is really sad. I have been wanting one for ages! I use to have 26 pets! Hello Fellow humans! Its Eden here and today I'm going to be telling you how we finished the carbon cycle. So Miss Far gave us a sheet with different stations about the carbon cycle. We also got put into groups and work together to finish it. There are 8 stations and we finished them all! I found this really hard because this took me and my group about 2 weeks to finish. I also learnt that respiration is water, Consumption is the forest, Combustion is Civilisation, Diffusion is The desert, Decomposition is animals and humans, photosynthesis plants, Acid rain is gas. Hello, I would definitely rate this book 7 out of 10 because it has a lot of twists and turns. I loved reading this book because it was very interesting. I think they should make this book have more characters because there weren't that much. This book is about a boy who turns 10 and he gets ninja superpowers! E.M Information report. -Water worries

Made by Eden- Water Worries                            A lot of people in the World are wasting water. People don’t realize how important water is for us. Hello, Today I am going to be telling you about the problems and the solutions to this problem. Let's get started! 

The Problems.

One of the main problems is that Farming. Many New Zealand farmers are changing the kind of food they supply and changing to dairy farms, Witch uses a lot of water. Also, some streams and rivers are drying up altogether. Having more cows also increases

Water pollution. Some Council workers test the waters so that the water is safe to drink. The Manawatu River has recently been called one of the dirtiest rivers in the world. Most of the river's pollution is caused by farm runoff, Sewage from towns, and Wastewater from factories. 

What will happen if this keeps happening? 

Will we have less water and some people might die from not having enough water, and animals will too. 

The plants and animals need water and if there is not much water left there will be not much food left too. 

Why this is happening

Some people are having too long showers, Wasting water, and a lot more.

What we can do to help??

We can help by having less water, Having shorter showers, and some more.

A lot of people do not care about this problem, But we should! Because if this keeps happening then we might not even have enough water to drink. Have showers, and no rain! So please help this stop happening!  

What is happening around the world??

A lot of countries don’t have that much water. In Auckland, New Zealand a lot of people don’t have that much water. This is because it doesn't rain in Auckland. It's because it is too dry and hot. In Australia, there is not much water because it is really hot there. Some rain in other countries that are dry do have some rain but this is because some of the rain falls in places that don't need it to rain, So that means people don’t have that much water because the rain isn't falling where they need it too most.

Hello! How are you?? I hope you are having a great day today! So This week in Whenua we are learning about the Pleiades, Also known as Matariki! This week we are supposed to do a Quiz about Matariki and how much you know about it. The first time I did this test I got 8 out of 10. ( This is the link to the Quiz... THE LINK!)  So we are supposed to post on our blog three things we learned about Matariki that we didn't know before we did the test. The three things I did not know is... That Winter in Maori is Hotoke. Another thing I learned is that Matariki comes in June, May, and July. The last thing I learned is that Tangaroa is not another name for Matariki. ( Even though I didn't think it was)

E.M Celebrating Puanga at Ramanui!

Hello How are you?? I hope you are having a great day! So In Whenua for literacy, we are reading a book about a town on the north island in New Zealand that celebrates a star called Puanga. I had to Anser some Questions about the book so you can go check the answers down below. At Ramanui school they have a hangi and its called Puanga kai Rau. They do some kapa haka and they also Make kites and lanterns. The kids help with the hangi and look up at the stars. E.M Dinner Costs.

Hello, I hope you are having a great day! So On Friday for Maths we had to create a dinner and go online and see how much the dinner ingredients cost. ( But we did not actually make the dinner only some people did.)  I choose Sushi but I did not make it in real life. I added all the ingredients up and I did the total cost but I might be wrong about it so yeah. this took me about an hour. So first I'm going to be answering some questions. What makes each of these areas special? I think they're special because of there all different in there own way. What lives in these ecosystems? Well in each ecosystem lives a different thing but some of them are the same animal but they live in a different kind then there species. How have the Organisms adapted to live there? Hello, I hope you are having a great day! I hope that you are feeling great today! How is Isolation going? So in the past week, Whenua has been learning about the ecosystem and what is the difference between Abiotic and Biotic.  I'm also going to be answering some questions. Why were possums introduces to new Zealand? I think possums were introduced to New Zealand because the hunters there needed something to hunt. Why is the introduction of possums so devastating to the wildlife in New Zealand? I don't really know why but I think its because they eat the bird's eggs and they make some of the birds endangered? So I have been reading a book about possums and Whenua has too. We are learning about possums because they destroy the ecosystems and other things too. Samoan New years Traditions

Hello How are you? I hope you are feeling well! I also hope you are having a great time in Quarantine and isolation! This Week in Whenua we have mostly been learning about Matariki! So for the activity, we have to research on other countries' new year's traditions. On Wednesday we researched Chinese New Year traditions and on Thursday we could pick a country that we wanted to research. I researched on Samoa because my Dad's Side is from there and some of them live there. This took me about 1 day. This was easy and hard. Hello, how are you doing? I am doing great! How is Quarantine going? It must be boring. This week we have been learning about Matariki, The nine stars. There are nine stars in the cluster. Their names are  Matariki, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waipuna-ā-rangi, Waiti,  Tupu-ā-Nuku, Ururangi, and Waitā.
