E.M My Brother's War- Novel Study.

 Kia Ora, Bonjour, Hello, everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a Perfect day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy we were are doing Novel Studies! So each reading group was assigned a Novel. In my reading group, The Kiwis, we supposed to read this book called My Brother's War. The book is about two brothers, William the older braver one that agrees with war, and Edmund the younger funny humorous, one that disagrees with war and They will both stand for what they believe in, even if it drives them apart. I would defiantly rate this book a ten out of ten, I would also give it a five-star novel! The book had death, happiness, Family, Friends, Connection, War, Intensity, and many more things, that you would want to find in a good book. I love this book and think it was very interesting! The slideshow down below has all the activities that I did for the book, and other things too! This whole book and the slideshow took me about 8-9 days to finish entirely. I also found this Hard because it took a long time and sometimes I was confused about what to do. I also found this fun and exciting! Fun Fact: Humans have jumped further than horses in the Olympics. E.M Gallipoli Campaign.

 Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, for our Novel Studies, for our last slide, we were supposed to pick one of the subjects and do a presentation about it. The subject that I chose off the slide was the Gallipoli Campaign. I chose to do three slides. One of them was What was the Gallipoli Campaign, What were the cause of the Gallipoli Campaign, How many Soldiers went to Gallipoli. This took me about 1 day to finish. I also found this easy because I have the internet, and I can search things up. I also found this fun and quite fun. Fun Fact: Glitter was made on a Ranch. Wow! E.M My Brother's War- Word Study.

 Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, we are doing Novel Studies! The book that I am reading is called My Brother's War. The book is about two brothers, William the older braver one that agrees with war, and Edmund the younger funny humorous, one that disagrees with war and They will stand for what they believe in, even if it drives them apart. I was so happy that I finally finished it! I almost finished the whole activity for the book! The book is very good and I rate it 10\10. So this blog post is about one of the tasks I have to do. It is called a word study. For the world Study, we were supposed to read through the entire book and find words that we don't know or are unfamiliar with. We were supposed to Find the page that the word was on, The context in which you find it, Your best guess on what the word means, The meaning, and the word in other forms, and your own sentence of the word. We were supposed to pick a minimum of 25 or more. I did 35 words. This took me about 8-9n days to finish, I also found this hard because it took me forever! I also found this frustrating and a bit boring. Fun Fact: Movie trailers originally played after the movie itself. Wow, I cannot imagine that happening! E.M Maths- Reflecting On Maths this Week- Fractions.

 Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today! So for Maths, we were supposed to do make a DLO (Digital Learning Object.) about what we've been learning about this week. So for Maths, we were learning about Fractions. So for Fractions, we were adding fractions. Fractions were kinda difficult for me, but in the end, I found it easy and was relieved that I finally finished it! I made a slideshow for it. This took me about 1 hour to finish, I also found this hard because I didn't know what to do, I also found this cool, I guess? Fun Fact: Giraffes tounges can be up to 20 inches! Wow! E.M Blog Contract. Post a piece of Writing.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a lovely day today. So for Spelling, my group and another group were supposed to do the blog contract. I decided to choose to post a piece of writing. This piece of writing was from the second week of the school holidays. I went to a holiday program. This program Katelyn and I went to was about digital things. So we had to tell Anthony (The Teacher.) our dreams and what we wanted to be when we were older. I chose to make a book, then everyone else wanted to make a book as well so we made one altogether. This book is about a Unicorn, a horse, and a dog. Chapter One

The Start

Once up in the clouds, there was a young unicorn that lived with its parents in a mystical land. Her name was Sparkles because she had a rare condition called sparkle kill. If she was so sad then she would lose sparkles and if she was so sad and lost all of her sparkles then she would die. Her parents always kept her in their cloud house just in case. But one day she got out because she found a lever and pulled it. Lots of stairs came down to the ground. She went down to see what the world was like. Sparkles and her parents can communicate using their horn. She saw a Butterfly flying around. She got excited because she had never seen a beautiful butterfly! Sparkles started to chase the bunny. She smashed her head into a tree. 5 pieces broke off her 

horn, she found one but she could not find all of them. A fast wind blew them away and before she knew it they were gone. She was so worried. She was about to go back to her parents but then she realized that she was lost and could not find her way back to her parents, maybe they went off looking for her? A few hours passed and she was a bit sad. She still had a little bit of power to find the other parts of her horn. She used the last bit of power in her horn to find out where the missing parts of the horn was. She was missing 4 pieces of her horn. One piece of horn was in a city, one was in a circus, and one was with a mysterious bunny.  When she had found all the pieces of her horn only then if she had all pieces of her horn she would find her parents. She started to Gallop for a while and she was a long way from home. She found herself in the city. 

Chapter 2.

The Whining Creature

When Sparkles made her way to the city she followed the tracker and found out that one of the pieces was in an abandoned building. It was night, she was in an alleyway. She saw a little cardboard box and a blanket… It looked like a home for a little pup. Straight as Sparkles saw that she felt all alone and missed her family, the little spot reminded her of her home. Then she turned around. She saw a door creeping open. On the dark gloomy door it said: “og Pound, ware. Some of the letters on the door must have scraped off. She didn’t really know if the Building was abandoned or new? The building was all rusty and old, it honestly looked like a dump. She wondered why the back door was open, maybe there was someone inside… or something? Straight as she had given up and was about to leave she heard whines coming from inside. She was eager to find out what was in there. She slowly opened the creepy door. As she slowly crept inside, the whines got louder, and louder, and louder. She came across another door. She opened the door in fear to see, DOGS! She had just realized that the sign on the back door that she came in through read: “ Dog Pound Beware.” The dogs were in these secure cages. She felt sad for them. All the dogs were asleep, except the pup that was whining. As she curiously tried to find the pup she saw all the other dogs. There were all sorts of dogs, Dalmations, Chihuahuas, French bulldogs, Schnauzers, Pit bulls, Huntawawys, border collies, and many more. In the dark corner of the room at the very end of the hallway was the whining pup! The whining pup was a fluffy German shepherd. Sparkles asked: “Are you ok?” The German Shepherd showed no response.The pup looked like they were about to cry. Sparkles then talked again: “ Don’t cry, I'm here to comfort you and rescue you.” The German Shepherd said: “Really you're here to rescue me? “ “Of Course I am” “ They took me off the streets and tomorrow… it’s the end for me. I need to escape fast!” “Ok I’ll help you get out!” Said Sparkles enthusiastically. She opened the cage with her teeth and helped the little pup. When she was about to leave and open the door of the dog room. All the dogs woke up… THEY STARTED BARKING! Sparkles and the unknown pup ran out, but they ran out of the front door. They triggered the alarm. As they were almost away from the pound they saw a man. Sparkles said: “Hey that man looks kind!” and started walking towards him. “NO HE'S THE ONE THAT CAPTURED ME!” Shouted the Pup. Sparkles had to act FAST. She looked around for help, she spotted a ship. Sparkles said. “Hop on to me.” They ran over to the ship and hopped on. When they were finally on they sighed a sigh of relief. Then she looked back and saw the pound man. He looked angry. Then Sparkles said to the German Shepard pup: “My name is Sparkles, what’s your name?” Then The German Shepard pup replied: “Trixie, my name is Trixie, I used to live in an alleyway the same alleyway that you came through, I lived in that little box blanket.” Sparkles then knew why the cardboard box was there and why the wooly jacket was there too. Sparkles explained why she was there and where she was going. Trixie’s face was in shock. “Before I got captured I found this glowing thing.” Trixie said as she showed what she had found. “THAT'S PART OF MY HORN!” Said Sparkles happily.

Chapter 3

The Posh and Grumpy Horse

After a while they landed. They seemed to have landed right next to the circus. Sparkles was indeed happy about that! They saw a horse that didn’t like the circus. He looked sad and alone. So the unicorn decided to rescue him at night. Trixie agreed. When it turned night they found the place where the horses slept. They broke in and said “Hi our names are Sparkles and Trixie and we have come to rescue you.” “My name is Lucas and I hate this place but first let me tell you my backstory.” Just after I was born a circus leader came and took my parents away from the paddock they lived in. I, the baby horse also got taken but my fate wasn’t as bad as my parents fate. I got trained to be a circus horse and became very posh and grumpy. I always give everyone autographs. “ I need help.” Said sparkles. “I have lost my parents and since I saved you both then can you help find my parents?  Thanks to Trixie I have part of my horn so we are even closer to finding my parents because I broke my horn and I can communicate with my parents with it.” said sparkles. “WAIT!” Yelled Lucas. “I found a glowing thing on the ground when I was going to this city for the circus.” Said Lucas. “That's amazing!” Said Sparkles. Now all they had to do was find where the bunny lived. They used the tracker.

Chapter 4

Betrayal

“We’re Hungry, We’re Cold, and We’re scared!” Said Lucas and Trixie.”It’s ok just a little bit longer.” Said Sparkles. “You have been saying that for the last 2 hours!” said the other two. “No Just a bit longer, we just need to find the other two bits of the horn, we can do it!.” “No Sparkles we are sick and the only reason we had to come here was because of YOU, I’m leaving, are you coming or not Trixie?” Said the grumpy posh horse. Sparkles looked at Trixie. Trixie looked at Sparkles. “Are you really leaving me? After all we’ve been through?” Said Sparkles. Trixie looked away from Sparkles, trying not to make eye contact with her. Sparkles looked away too, feeling betrayed, and alone. Trixie and Lucas started walking the opposite direction to where Sparkles was walking. Sparkles looked back sad and alone. She was determined to find her lost parents and the last bits of her horn. A few hours have passed since they separated. From nowhere the Circus Leader came and took back Lucas, all he wanted was to get money and become rich again. Trixie ran away and hid. Trixie was all alone and regretted leaving her friend. She still walked to the same boat that Sparkles and her went on to find Sparkle's parents. After Trixie hopped off the boat she headed back to her little alleyway. Straight as she got back she got caught again by the Pound man.

Chapter 5

The Friends Reunited

 She went back to her same little alone cage. Sparkles still walked alone searching for hope to try to find her parents and the last bits of her horn. Lucas was back  at the circus he realized how it felt again.. before Sparkles saved him. That's what happened with Trixie as well. Trixie was at the pound and in a few days she would end up dead like before. Before Sparkles saved her. They both regretted what they did and promised to never be mean to Sparkles like that ever again. They wished that one of their closest friends was there once again, Sparkles. Sparkles felt the same way too. Sparkles turned back wondering if she would ever see her beloved friends again.She had to make it true! She found the bunny hole. She couldn’t fit. So she had to think again. Just when she was about to give up she saw the bunny hopping around going back to the hole. She caught the bunny and said “WHERE ARE THE PIECES OF MY HORN?!” She said in anger. The bunny then said: “Oh I didn’t know that these were yours, here have them back!” Since she had found all the pieces of her horn and her horn was fixed she was able to find her parents but first she had to get her friends back. She galloped back to find her friends. When she went back to the place where Lucas was in the circus he wasn’t there! She was starting to get worried. She found a poster saying that they were in a town a few hours away. She galloped to the town where they were performing in. She found Lucas. She said: “Hi Lucas… Let’s go find Trixie!” Lucas said: “Ok I’m sorry, let’s go!” They both galloped together to get on the boat. When they got back to the dog pound they both  busted in and the alarms went off of course, but they didn’t care at all. All they wanted to do was to find their last friend. They were just in time before Trixie was about to be put down.  When they found Trixie. Trixie said: “I’m sorry! I didn’t realize how selfish i was.” “It’s ok! Now let's get out of here!” They all ran away. They went back on the boat and searched to find her parents. 

Chapter 6.

The End

After they hopped off the boat they all said: “AHH finally nothing else is going wrong!” “You forgot about me”! Said the Circus man. Just then Sparkles used her magical horn to make the circus man fly into the ocean. He said: “NOOOOO!!!!” Now that they had no more problems in their way they headed off to find sparkle's parents. Sparkles used her magical horn to locate her parents. Her parents were worried sick about Sparkles. They realized that it was wrong to keep Sparkles away from the world. She found them in a tree shaped cloud. Sparkles asked her parents if she could have her new friends to live with them because they both don’t have a 

family. Her parents said yes after thinking about it for a second. They asked Sparkles who they were. Sparkles 

brought them to her house to show her parents. They were all now happy forever.

E.M Author Profile- David Hill.

 Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you are all having a delightful day today! So for Term 2, we are reading Novels and we are doing Novel Studies. Each Group gets a different book. My group, The Kiwi, is reading My Brother's War by David Hill. For each chapter we were supposed to do some tasks, One of my Tasks was to make an Author Profile. An Author Profile is when you have to write down everything about them and what they do for a living. So I had to make an Author Profile for David HIll. I write Fun Facts about him and write what books he writes and other things. This took me about 20 minutes to make, I also found this quite boring but kinda fun at the same time. I also found this hard because I had to research a lot to find more things about him. Fun Fact: We're the First Country to see the sunrise. Wow, how cool! E.M Bitcoin.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are all having a cool day today! So it's the last day of the school holidays. That's sad :(. So in the school holidays, in the second week of it, Katelyn and I went to a Holiday programme together. The programme was about Digital things and how to use and do cool things on devices. We also told everyone our dreams and what we wanted to do when we were older. Our Teacher Anthony, helped us get that one step closer to achieving our dreams. He showed us a Bitcoin! (If you don't know what a Bitcoin is then make sure to check out my work!) He had bought that Bitcoin but it only cost a bit of money. (He brought it in in a different country. We were so surprised and at first, didn't know what it was until he explained to us and we were so proud to hold one and be in the presence of it! We also took pictures of it and make sure to check them out down below! A Bitcoin is worth a lot of money and he was able to actually spend it. We were even more surprised when we found out that it might just be the only one in New Zealand! (Correct me if I'm wrong in the comments.) This took me about 40 minutes to make and finish. I also found this fun and exciting, and I found this hard and easy. Fun Fact: On February the 9th 2011 the Bitcoins were only worth $1. (I don't know what country.) E.M Should children be allowed to chew chewing gun at school? - Blog Contract 2021.

 Hello fellow humans! How are you? I hope you are having a delightful day today! So since it's the school holidays I was getting quite bored just staying home and doing absolutely nothing, so I decided to choose something off the blog contract and do what it said. So I chose to do: Should children be allowed to chew chewing gum at school and why or why not? So I chose to say why we should be allowed because chewing gum tasted so good and it has many other good side effects as well.  I know that most kids put chewing gum underneath tables like those high schools, but maybe if you put chewing gum underneath the table, you could get in trouble? This took me about 10 minutes to make, and I found this very fun and exciting because I finally wasn't bored and I love chewing gum, and I also found this easy because I already knew that chewing gum could help you in school. Fun Fact: Some African tribes have been known to take chewing gum as a payment for a wife, instead of oxen or a sheep... WHAT?? E.M Remembering- In Memory.

Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, We were supposed to read three books that are about Anzac that Miss Farr gave us to read, then we were supposed to do three activities for each book. (Nine activities in Total.) I am currently on my third and final book, and I am also on my last task for T-Shaped Literacy! This is exciting because that means I'm finished with all my school work and don't need to do any of it in the school holidays, and Yay! It's the last week of school for Term 1. Only three more terms to go. The category that I chose was: Remembering and the activity I chose was: Do you already know anything about this book or had any experiences related to the text. If so write about them. So In-Memory is a book about Remembering all the soldiers that died for us and served our country. It is also about when each town comes together and remembers the soldiers, which I did and experienced when I lived in Wellington, I used to go with my mum's Mum, Mum, and older sister. This took me about 20 minutes to make, I also found this easy, and a little bit fun and relieved that I'm finally finished all my work for the term! One of the experiences that I experienced that is related to the book was when my family and I went to go to the memorial thing in Wellington mostly every Anzac. We would stay at my Mum's mother's house the night before Anzac, then in the morning we would go to the Anzac Memorial and stand there and sing songs. I remember many people there and some people were crying. ( I felt kinda bad for them.) This relates to my book because my book talks about some Anzac Memorials and it talks about what kind of memorial statue's there are. I don't really remember what memorial statue there was in Wellington. Overall I had a great time and I was always excited to go there every Anzac. 

E.M Applying- In Memory.

 Hi everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great awesome day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, we were supposed to read three books and do three activities for each book. So I'm on my third book and I'm also on my second activity. The activity I chose was from the category Applying. The activity I actually chose was: Write words for a Jingle about the book to encourage people to read it. This took me about 5 minutes to make and finish, I found this fun and enjoyable, I also found this hard because I had to think a long time about what wors would be in the Radio Jingle. So I hope that this Radio Jingle would encourage you to read the book. Also, the Jingle is underneath this caption. I hope that you like my work! Fun Fact: Cows don't have Upper Teeth. E.M The 28th Māori Battalion.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today, and yay it's the last week of school! For T-Shaped Literacy, we were supposed to research the 28th Māori Battalion. The 18th Māori Battalion was an Infantry Battalion of the New Zealand Army that served during the War. The 28th Māori Battalion was the most famous Battalion of New Zealand. They even have a video! This took me about 1 day to make, edit, put links, and finish, I also found this fun and exciting, I also found this hard because we had to make it as interesting and good as possible. E.M Reflecting on what we've done this week for Maths.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a delightful day today. So for maths on the Must do's, we had to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object.) reflecting on what we have done for Maths this week. I chose to make a slideshow because I don't really make many blog posts with slideshows.  The thing that we did this week was adding and subtracting large numbers in the thousands, and the hundreds. This took me about 20 minutes to make and finish, I also found this fun and great, and I also found this easy because all we had to do was make a DLO (Digital Learning Object.) and write what we have learnt this week. E.M Understanding- In Memory.

 Tēnā Koe! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day today! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, we were supposed to read three books about the war and do three activities for each book and pick those activities from the activity chart. This is my third book and this is my first activity for the book. The activity I chose was from the category Understanding. The activity was: Draw a picture about how the text makes you feel, and explain in a diary entry how the text makes you feel. The diary entry and the picture are right underneath this caption. This took me about 20 minutes to make, I found this hard because I had to think hard about what to write and I had to think about the feeling I was feeling while reading the book, I also found this fine and ok. Yay, it's the last week of school for Term 1! Fun Fact: Armadillo shells are bulletproof. Wow, that means if you're trying to hunt one down with a gun and you shoot it on its shell, it won't work. Dear Diary,

It's Eden here! I have recently learned about Anzac and the memorials that were built for the men and women that passed away in world war 1. I mean don't we learn about it every year, but this year was different. I had just started to realize how sad the story was. The book I learned more about Anzac was called In-Memory. That's where I started to feel sad. They went to serve our country and lots of them did not survive. So I definitely agree that they should be remembered. I am very sorry for those who lost their loved ones. I am quite glad that they put over 500 memorials around New Zealand! The feeling I got reading the book was: Sad. I am very grateful for the people that went to serve our country and gave up their lives for us.

E.M Analysing- First World War Mascots.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a beautiful day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, my class was supposed to read a book about the World Wars and pick three activities to do off the chart of activities. This is my third task, and my second book, so I only have 1 more book to do! The task that I chose to do was from the category Analysing and the activity I chose was: Design a new front cover for the book you have read. Make it visually appealing si it will attract readers. Refer to other book covers to see what to include.  This took me about 15 minutes to make and finish, I also found this fun and not boring at all, I also found this easy because I knew what to do and I also had a great time decorating the book cover. E.M Maths- Add and Subtracting Large numbers.

 Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today! So for maths my group, the Circles were supposed to add and subtract big numbers. We were supposed to figure out the answers by ourselves. There were six questions but some of the questions we answered with Miss Farr. This took me about 15 minutes to finish and make, I also found this fun and great, I also found this hard and easy because at first I accidentally added the numbers that I was supposed to subtract, then I had to start all over again. We could post this on our blogs if we wanted to, but if we didn't we didn't have to. Fun Fact: The first oranges weren't orange. That's right! E.M Kaitiaki Word of the week.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great awesome day today! So for Spelling, my class Whenua and I were supposed to do our word of the week. So this week's word of the week was Kaitiaki, which means Guardian and protector of the environment. I thought it had something to do with kindness but it wasn't. This took me about 10 minutes to make, I also found this fun and great, and I also found this easy because we mostly do the word of the week every week, and hey! It's the last week of school! E.M Evaluating- First World War Mascots.

 Hello, everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a delightful day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, we were supposed to read the three stories and pick three activities for that book on the activity chart. This is my second book and this is my second activity on the book. My book is called First World War Mascots by Philipa Werry. The book is explaining what mascots are and remembering what they did and how they helped us. The activity I chose was from the category Evaluating, and the activity was: Explain your feeling to a particular part of the book why do you feel this way? So the part of the book I chose was on page 2 of the book. That part explains what a mascot is and why did the soldiers have mascots. Read how I felt reading this down below this caption. This took me about 10 minutes to make and finish, I also found this easy but hard because I had to decide what part of the book to explain how I felt, I also found this great. if there is anything that I can do better next time, make sure to write it down below in the comments. When I was reading what a mascot is and why the soldiers had mascots, at first I felt confused because I didn't know what a mascot was and why the soldiers had mascots. Then after I found out what mascots were and why the soldiers had mascots I was completely happy, not angry one bit, because the animals looked so cute and it hit the spot when they said that they had the mascots not only for help but for company. (That's like having a pet.) I was very happy but sad because later on in the book some animals passed away, but when reading page 2 I felt happy and not confused anymore. 

E.M Understanding- First World War Mascots.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope that you are having a beautiful day today! So for T-Shaped Literacy, we are learning about Anzac and the Mascots. The book I decided to read was First World War Mascots. It's about all the animals that stayed by the soldier's sides while they were at war and how they helped them defeat the other enemies. One of my favorite famous animals that were mentioned in the story was Pelorus Jack. He was a dog that helped a lot, but not in the war, on the HMS New Zealand. So I was supposed to choose something off the chart and I chose: Design a bookmark featuring the title, author, and a summary of your book. Decorate the bookmark with pictures of the book. To show you know about the book make a picture book. Illustrate the main idea of the book. Which I think is remembering the animals that helped in the first world war. I also think it's about the mascots and the book teaches the reader what mascots are and how they help, it also teaches them about animals and some of the animals that served in the first world war were exotic. This is my first task for my second book, just have one more book to go and two more tasks. This took me about 2 hours to make, I also found this exciting because I like doing crafts, I also found this great but kinda boring. Fun Fact: A snail can sleep for three years.  Hello! How are you? I hope that you are having a CRAZY day today! So for T-shaped literacy, we were supposed to pick something off the chart about Anzac and read a book. So this is task three and the task that I chose was off Analysing and it was: If you could meet the author or a character from your book what five questions would you most like to ask them? So I decided to ask five questions to the author and to Stewart the second main character that found Torty the lucky Tortoise. I decided to write the questions I would ask them underneath this caption. This took me about 10 minutes to make, I found this a bit boring but fun at the same time, I also found this easy. I give my book, Torty the luck Tortoise,  nine out of ten. I think this because it had pictures so that we could imagine what Torty and Stewart looked like. You can also picture the scenes and what happened. I don't give it a ten because I think that the Author could have added a bit more writing because I think that is is a very short story and I would have liked to read more.

 Hello, everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a wonderful day today! So my class Whenua is working on something new for T-Shaped Literacy. Can you guess what it is? We are learning about Anzac and some of the animals that went to war. So we were supposed to choose a story that was on the class blog and read the book. Then we were supposed to pick something off the chart and do that certain activity. There were many activities to do, but you can't do the same activity for the same book. So I chose to read Torty the lucky Tortoise. Torty is a Tortoise that was found by Stewart. Stweart took Torty into his home after she got ran over by a wheel. Then she went through a lot of things, she got stolen, found, in a fire, and through hibernation. This is the first activity that I chose off the chart. The activity I chose was: Are there any animals or natural settings in your book? If yes, draw and describe them. If no could there have been? Draw and Describe them. So I drew Torty and what she looked like, I also described her. I found this easy and hard. I also found this fun. This took me about 15 minutes to make. I also decided to write my text, and the text is down below this caption. I also put a picture of what Torty looks like. Fun Fact: Tortoises are ancient, Tortoises have been around for over 200 million years- longer than lizards, birds, mammals, crocodiles, and snakes. Thanks, bye, Eden.

Torty is a small tortoise. She has two-wheel marks on the top of her shell. When she was found, by her owner, she was around one hundred years old. While currently, she is two hundred years old. She has faded marks on her back. She is grey, black, and a very light orangey yellow. She has two little cute nostrils and a cute innocent face. She has lost some toes on her back toes. Her feet are scaly and rough. Overall she looks adorable. 

E.M If I could change one thing about our school what would it be?

So I was chilling at home and had nothing to do, So I decided to choose something off the blog contract and do a DLO (Digital Learning Object.)  I chose to do it on a google drawing. I chose to do if I could change something about our school what would it be. The thing that I would change about our school would be that if a kid got to reflection they would miss out on a treat that the rest of the class would do. This took me about 20 minutes to make. I found this fun and quite cool. I also found this easy and hard because it took me quite a while to decided what to change in our school then after that it was easy.  Ello Ello Ello everyone! How are you? I hope that you are having a great day today! So since it's the Easter Holidays, I'm very bored. So I decided to pick something off the blog contract and do my work. So I decided to pick I you could go back in time to one event what would the event be? The main event is when I went to Auckland Rainbows End in 2016! This took me about 2 hours to make. I found this hard because I had to keep on taking videos to try and get the perfect shot.  Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a fantastic day today! So I decided to do a DLO (Digital Learning Object.) About what I am grateful for. I picked this off the blog contract and I am doing this in the Easter holidays because I want to! ( I'm also bored.) Yay, I can't believe that tomorrow is Easter! I'm very excited. Now you're probably reading this after Easter, so how was your Easter? I thought very hard about what I am grateful for and I finally came up with these five answers. 1. Friends and Family, 2.  Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope that you are having an absolute Great day today! So for the Easter holidays, I was getting quite bored so I decided to do my blog contract! So I picked to tell you guys about your pet! I wrote about Silky. Silky is my fish and I got him in Christmas for 2020. I got him from my older sister, Isy. E.M Podcast energy- Solar Panels.

 Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great awesome day today! So my class and I were supposed to make a map of our school. Then we were supposed to place objects such as rocks, leaves, sticks, paper, or cardboard to represent solar energy. We were supposed to place the objects where we think they should have solar energy. I chose leaves  For those who don't know what solar panels are, they are panels that are built on the roofs of buildings and they collect energy from the sun. The sun makes energy and we collect them through solar panels, which is very good for the planet and it is saving energy. (Even though they cost lots of money.) This took me about 2 days to finish and publish. I found this cool and fun. I also found this easy cause I knew exactly where to put the solar panels on the map. I'm going to be switching things up a bit and saying a fun fact in every blog post. Fun Fact: A little bit of the waves is made by wind but most of it is made by the Moon! Yes, I was as shocked as you. (If you knew that good on ya.) They cost $300 each for one panel. That would be a lot of money. We would probably need more than 150 solar panels for our whole school. Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a great day today! So my class and I were supposed to pick someone and something to persuade someone about. I chose to persuade my parents to get me a beloved cute furry companion. A dog or a puppy. I have been wanting one for six long years! Hopefully, this will persuade my parents. Dear Mum and Dad,                                                                                                                                           It's Eden your beloved favorite child here! I believe that we should get a dog\puppy. (Please consider my letter.) I know that you are currently open to get a dog, and I know that we have to save up the money of course, also this may sound like I'm trying to rush the process, but, could we maybe get a dog this year or the next? I really want an adorable puppy or dog that I can cuddle and play with. I mean, I've been wanting one for six long years! Anyways, here are my reasons why.

- I won't be sad, alone, or bored.

- It will encourage me to get off my Chromebook and to get outside more. 

- I have a fish so you know I will look after a furry Canine.

- if the dog or puppy is lonely while I'm at school Mum can take the dog to her work. 

- There are many dogs out there that need a lovely, kind, forever home and some of them are abandoned and neglected. 

Why I want a dog\puppy.                                                                                                                               To Mum and Dad, I wouldn't like a puppy... I would LOVE one! Puppies can help you in many ways, here are some of them. Puppies can be supportive during stressful times, there is proof that puppies can make you happier, Puppies keep you silly, Puppies are here to play never to judge, Puppies are the cure to sicknesses, Puppies grow up to be loyal friends, Puppies are unbelievably cute, Puppies make you happier and if your happier then your better to be around, Puppies are playful, loyal, and silly companions.  

Here are some of the benefits of having a dog. Dogs make us happy, dogs are loyal, we're more social with dogs, dogs keep us healthy, we're more active with dogs, dogs are a cute madness, dogs teach responsibility, growing up with dogs has heaps of good news, a dog at home builds confidence, dogs offer protection, dogs teach kids unconditional love, dogs can save your life, dogs can detect illnesses, dogs build up the immune system, It is scientifically proven that people with dogs tend to get less sick, they're great for cuddling, and they are pretty DARN cute! I know that there are some side effects of having a dog but... let's not think about all that. Let's think about all the cuteness and all the good benefits of having a loyal furry friend! 

Equipment and Money.                                                                                                                                      Although having a dog means cuddles, kisses, playtime, and a best friend for life, there's one thing that a dog NEEDS, Equipment! The equipment that a dog needs are food and water bowls, a collar, a leash, an ID tag with a phone number, a dog bed, dog wash equipment, dog grooming equipment, and other things. I know all these things will cost a lot PLUS veterinarian care, PLUS the dog cost itself. That's why I've come up with a plan\deal. We put aside money for a dog and all the things it needs, but I know that the deal might seem quite unfair for you, So maybe I could do chores every week and be your slave then you could put money aside every week. (Or I could just do nothing and you put the money aside every week, but if I do the jobs and save up it's MY dog but if we all save up then it will be a family dog.) Dogs cost between $100-$7000 dollars on TradeMe, which is quite A  LOT of money. 

Conclusion.                                                                                                                                                        In conclusion, I hope that you have agreed with my terms and say yes to have a dog. E.M How Tokelau makes their energy.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day. So my class and I for T- Shaped literacy were supposed to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object.) about how Tokelau makes their energy. For those who don't know where and what Tokelau is it's a country in the middle of the pacific ocean and it is very small. They make their own electricity by using coconut oil since they have lots of coconut trees. They are the first country to do this! They also use Solar panels too!  Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a beautiful lovely day today! So my class and I were supposed to make a video explaining how to add and subtract decimals. I'm not quite sure if the video will show for others but hopefully, it will! I'm not sure which one is harder to do, To add decimals, or subtract decimals. I personally prefer adding decimals cause it's a lot easier to do. This took me about 1 day to do but I was supposed to do it on Tuesday. So my reading Kiwi had to read a book about Climate change and about the feedback loops and how they work.  Were supposed to make a google drawing and research Positive feedback loops and Negative feedback loops.  Hello everyone! I hope you guys are feeling great today! E.M Weekly Quiz Papakura Snake

 Hello Everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day today! So today my class, Some kids from Taiao, and I were supposed to get into our house colours and do a weekly quiz. So my house colour Red, came second place in the quiz for answering the most correct questions. After we did that we were supposed to pick something off the weekly quiz and make a DLO (Digital Learning Object.)  about it and research about it. I chose the Papakura snake that was found at the construction site. This took me about 1 block to finish. I found this fun and cool cause I like researching stuff and making DLO's. E.M Energy Compare and Contrast.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a beautiful day today. So my class and I were supposed to compare the two texts about energy. My favorite text was probably text 2. It just had more descriptive writing and it had more detail. Text 2 talked about all the ways that you can do to use less energy, and Text 1 is about questions on how to save energy and you have to answer them in your head. E.M Energy Word Map (Negative Feedback loops.)

Kia ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day today. My class and I have been learning and writing about energy. So my reading group Kiwi was supposed to write about Positive feedback loops and negative feedback loops. (This piece of work is the Negative feedback loops and I'm gonna write about Positive feedback loops. ) So all I know is that Positive feedback loops speed up climate change and Negative feedback loops slow climate change down. I don't know which is the good one I think that it is Negative. So this piece of work took me about 1 day to finish and make. E.M Persuasive writing- Pros and Cons about Zoos.

Hello everyone! We are learning about Persuasive writing. So my class and I were supposed to pick something off Write About to write about persuading someone. I chose the pros and cons of zoos. I am honestly on both sides cause I love visiting animals and seeing them in real life, but on the other side I feel bad cause they might be isolated and kept from their natural habitats.  This took me about 2 days to finish. I found this cool and fun cause I really enjoy writing! I found this easy cause I am experienced at writing. Pros and Cons about Zoos.

Pros: Seeing Wildlife, Close up interaction, A Close Glimpse at the Wild Life.

Cons: Keeping animals isolated, If they are alone they might become sad and lonely, It's stealing them from their natural habitats. 

Pro= Sometimes it's good to keep animals in the zoo cause if they are injured or disabled it would be better if they were looked after by the zookeepers and it would be safer to keep them in the zoo than the dangerous wild.  Once they are better and are healed the zookeepers can release them into the wild, back to their natural habitat. 

Con= Sometimes it's bad to keep animals isolated and lonely. They should be released and be happy, they might miss their families and friends if they lived in the wild before they moved to the zoo. 

E.M Explore the Properties of a Circle.

 Bonjour everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a Parfait day! So today my class and I were supposed to explore the properties of a circle, by doing that we were supposed to find out the Radius, Diameter, and Circumference of a perfect circle. So we had to go around the classroom and measure all of these 3 things above. We used a string to measure the items. This took us about 30 minutes to do. I found this hard at first then I asked Katelyn and she helped me, then I found it easy peasy. - How much did you already know about energy?

The things that I knew about energy were that energy came from the sun, wind farms, electronics, Cars, Trains, Computers, Phones, Tablets, Power lines, Electrical Fences, Solar Panels, Tvs, Water Systems. 

- Were there any surprises.

I was a bit surprised when I found out that there was water energy and Many more. I was also a bit surprised that I could memorize all of these things that make energy. 

-What questions do you have about energy?

My questions about energy are how does energy work? I mean it's a bit confusing. Another question is how many things make energy? I mean, there must be thousands. 

E.M Pool of Knowledge.

 Hello and G'day everyone! So my class and I were supposed to team up with our house colours and make a pool of knowledge. So we were supposed to make a pool of knowledge about energy and everything we knew about energy. We also needed to put some stuff in about Papatuanuku and Ranginui. (I am in Red house, so Red house and I-made this but I added a few touches. ) This took us about a couple of days to make. I found this easy but hard too. I also found this fun and very entertaining.  Kia Ora everyone! How are you, so my class and I were supposed to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object.) on What Now. What Now is celebrating their 40th Anniversary this year! I can't believe that it is 40 years old now! So Katelyn and I decided to make a video about What Now, but not just any old video, we made a news Report! Called EK news! Language's French Canada.

 Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day today! So my class and I have been working on a project. This project is for French. My class and I are doing french and learning it. We learn french for a block every Tuesday. We also learn Te Reo Maori. So for French, we had to pick a country that speaks french to research. I chose Canada. I found out a lot of facts about Canada. This took me a few weeks to finish. I found this very fun cause I like to research other countries.  I found this quite hard cause I have to research different countries and I'm not quite that good at that. E.M My Fish Silky. Blog Contract.

 Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a cool day!  So my class and I had to pick something off our blog contract and we do that thing that we chose. I chose to write and tell the reader about your pet. So I only have one pet, my pet is called Silky. I'm pretty sure Silky is a boy but it might be a girl but let's just call it a boy.  So this piece of work took me about 20 minutes to make.  Kia Ora everyone! How are you? I hope you are having a beautiful day! So this week my class and I had to create a poem about a special item or pet that we own! So I chose my Fish Silky. I got Silky for Christmas 2020 from my older sister. I got 3 fish but sadly the other two died. So we were supposed to make 2 poems, the other poem that I made was about my bedroom. After we made 2 poems we had to pick the best one. I chose the poem about my fish. This poem took me about 2 days to make. E.M The Tree of Life.

 She Held hope in her outstretched hands, Kneeling gently on the ground, she prepared herself for what she knew she must do. The cool water trickled through her muddy fingers, and the soft, black earth felt comfortingly warm on her palms. 

Planting the tree of life would mean a new beginning. The opportunities were endless...

Feeling the excitement course through her quivering body, she lowered the tree of life into the small hole she had prepared. It was time...

It was a sunny, hot, scorching day in the ver hot, Australia., well isn't it every day? Stella whispered in her head.  She was watching her creepy old neighbor Mr. Grass Worm, While he was cutting down all the trees in his front yard.  Stella always thought he was weird. Stella and her family moved to Australia 5 years ago, she lived there for exactly half of her life.

When Stella first moved into her new home Mr. Grass Worm was a happy cheerful man, until his wife died from Cancer. Ever since the incident happened, he had always been grumpy, sad, most of all SUS.. Stella just thought he was sad because of his wife dying or was it something else? 

Well, back to what Stella was actually doing. Stella was planting a tree, but not just any old tree, it was a special tree, the Tree of Life! She recently got this tree from Mrs. Oldie. Mrs. Oldie worked at the plant shop down the road. The old lady always felt like she and Stella were connected somehow, so did Stella. So she gave Stella a special plant, called The Tree of Life! The Tree of Life could bring life! It could plant millions of more trees, but only if she planted the tree first. 

So she started to plant the tree. The tree had to be fully grown first then the millions of trees would be planted.

After she planted the special tree, she went inside. The next morning the tree was massive. It was almost ready! Then she saw Mr. Grass Worm trying to cut down the important tree! She ran downstairs. Mr. Grass Worm saw her, then he hurried aways into his old, creepy home. While he was running away something small fell out of his pocket. It looked like a small diary. 

She picked the small book up and started to read it. She was horrified. In the book, it said '' How I shouldn't have killed my dear wife''. She was shocked! Straight after she finished reading the sentence in the book she looked up at his house. He was standing there behind the curtains staring at her out the dusty window. He glanced creepily at her. He started to write something on the dusty window while blood dripped down the window. The sentence said  '' Your next''.
